About the guest speakers
Mira Mattar writes fiction and poetry. Her novella, Yes, I Am A Destroyer, was published in 2020 (Ma Bibliothèque). Her chapbook, Affiliation (Sad Press), and her first collection, The Bow (the87press), were both published in 2021. A new chapbook, And most of all I would miss the shadows of the tree’s own leaves cast upon its trunk by the orange streetlight in the sweet blue darks of spring, is forthcoming from Veer2. Her work has been published in Granta, The Chicago Review, Berfrois, and elsewhere. She regularly reads her work in the UK and abroad. Mira lives and works in London.
Keston Sutherland is a poet, literary critic, and critical theorist. His books include Scherzos Benjyosos, Whither Russia, Poetical Works 1999–2015, The Odes to TL61P, Stress Position, and Hot White Andy. His latest work is Meditations, a book of devotional exercises for crushed heads, love poems for a dead woman, a picaresque tour of revolutionary beheadings, sestinas in lifts and doorways, delirious lectures on the history of farming, Xerxes, quack remedies, pest control, flooring, the debt recovery market, geese, death, and planks. He lives in Brighton, UK, and works at the University of Sussex.
