Transcript is a new magazine, edited by Daniël van der Winden and Iris Cuppen. Issue One was released in the summer of ’24, with a limited edition of 100.

Transcript was born out of a desire to capture what has been said, or what has roughly been said; to copy what we hear, so we can hear again; to create an echo. Or, as Georges Perec wrote in Species of Spaces (1973): “to write: to try meticulously to retain something, to cause something to survive; to wrest a few precise scraps from the void as it grows, to leave somewhere a furrow, a trace, a mark or a few signs.”

Issue One includes a poem by Yasmin Veenman, a travelogue by Charlie Jermyn, an essay by Daniël van der Winden and a short story by Iris Cuppen, as well as visuals by Ezekiel Aquino and Thomas & Jurgen, covering mutant turnips, unkempt hedges, herring rolls, falling objects, touching fingers, fentanyl blasters, fuzzy pets, lumpy landscapes, yellow stockings, forbidden fruits, cigarette tips, and much more.

Daniël will give an introduction to the magazine, followed by readings by Charlie and Iris. It will be possible to buy Transcript at the event.
